We are thrilled to share the fantastic outcome of our recent charity golf day, where we successfully raised £3,000 for The CAUSE Foundation, our chosen Applebridge Charity of the Year. This charity is dedicated to supporting families across Teesside, and we couldn’t be prouder of the difference we are making together.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our clients, suppliers, and friends who joined us. Your generosity and support made this day possible. We truly appreciate every donation, and we hope you had as much fun as we did.

Our Commitment to the Community
At Applebridge, we believe in nurturing and giving back to the community we are a part of. Our Applebridge Charity of the Year initiative is a testament to this commitment. It’s not just about business for us; it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives.
The CAUSE Foundation
This year, we are supporting The CAUSE Foundation, which provides essential hampers to families in need across Teesside. These hampers are given to those nominated by Social Workers, Schools, and other charities. To learn more about the CAUSE Foundation please visit:
We are proud to announce our recent investment in the Red Sky Foundation by installing defibrillators across our offices in Middlesbrough and Wakefield. As a group comprising ZTL Contracting, AD Plant Hire, Applebridge Construction, Applebridge Utilities, Applebridge Building Services, and Retaining UK, we are committed to making a positive impact on our communities.
This decision was motivated by a personal experience that hit close to home for our Managing Director, Chris Brown. When his friend Oliver Williams suffered a cardiac arrest while out jogging, Chris realized the critical importance of having defibrillators readily available. Despite Oliver’s peak fitness, his life was saved thanks to the quick response of off-duty police officers who provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived with a defibrillator.
The Red Sky Foundation, a registered charity, has been working tirelessly to raise awareness about the necessity of defibrillators. We are delighted to support their cause by installing defibrillators at our offices in Middlesbrough, Wakefield, and Imperial Park.
Founded by Sergio and Emma Petrucci, the Red Sky Foundation obtained full charitable status in 2020 as a way to express gratitude to the heart unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The foundation has since raised over £950,000 to provide state-of-the-art machinery for treating heart conditions in babies, children, and adults across the North East and the wider UK. Sergio and Emma, recently honored with MBEs, continue their efforts to raise awareness and save lives.
Defibrillators are crucial life-saving devices that can treat cardiac arrest effectively. Every minute that passes without urgent CPR and defibrillation decreases the chances of survival by 7-10%. That is why having defibrillators available in public places, such as schools, workplaces, and gyms, is paramount. The Red Sky Foundation offers free training on their website (redskyfoundation.com) for anyone interested in learning how to use a defibrillator in just 15 minutes.
As part of the Applebridge Family, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on our communities and prioritizing the well-being of those around us. Our investment in defibrillators is just one way we contribute to the greater good.
Together, we can create safer environments and save lives. Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives and contributions as we continue to work towards building a better future.
We are pleased to announce that ‘Victoria’s Wish’ has been selected as the Applebridge Charity of the Year.
Created by Ian Lawrence of Redcar and his family to honour their daughter Victoria, who passed away in 2022, aged 19 , Victorias Wish supports young people with cancer and life-threatening illnesses.
Each year, Applebridge Family partners with a charity to make a series of donations and fundraising activities, including its annual charity golf day.
Managing Director Chris Brown comments: “Supporting the community has never been more important to the group. At Applebridge, we are in a fortunate position, being connected to chief decision makers throughout the construction and business world.
“With the Charity of the Year initiative we put a focus on supporting charities within our communities that struggle to be seen and heard. When we heard Ian’s story and the objectives for Victoria’s Wish, it was a no-brainer for us to partner with them. We’re excited to see how we can contribute to the cause over the next 12 months, through both monetary means and facilitating charitable activities.”
Victoria’s Wish works with families to arrange short respite breaks, trips away, annual parties, and pantomime visits, while also helping to secure grants to help with travel, treatment and also sadly, funeral expenses.
Ian Lawrence Victoria’s Wish founder, commented: “By partnering with Applebridge Family, Victoria’s Wish will be able to help even more families affected by life-threatening illnesses. Together, we can create a brighter future for these children and their loved ones , providing them with the support, resources and hope they need to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. We can’t thank Applebridge enough for their support so far and we look forward to the next year with renewed vigour.”
The appointment of Victoria’s Wish coincides with the conclusion of our partnership with the Ellen Timney Foundation. Throughout the last 12 months, more than £28,000 was donated to the Foundation, a registered charity that was set up to support underprivileged children in the North East.
It was a partnership that made a huge difference to the charity. Jane Morgan said: “We can’t believe that just over a year ago we were invited along to have a ‘chat’ with Applebridge Family. Even now after being their chosen charity of the year, we still ask ‘why us’?
“The Applebridge Family has been an absolute godsend and their support means the world to the Ellen Timney Foundation. Adrianna Hughes and Gemma Peacock have supported us with everything we have asked for and more! Their kindness, generosity and just always being there for us, has enabled us to provide assistance to even more local sick and disadvantaged children. From beds to specialist baths, from uniforms to winter coats, from Christmas gifts to pushchairs, nothing has ever been a problem. “We are sad the year is at an end, but we would like to wish the next chosen charity all the very best. They are certainly getting the best with the Applebridge Family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Since joining the Applebridge Family in 2020, Geocast has moved 50 miles south from Ashington to Hartlepool and expanded its premises from 6,000ft to 25,000ft to bring lots of new jobs and opportunities to the local area.
Alongside this, we have invested heavily in the latest technology and software and provided training opportunities for our workforce.
GEOCAST FACTORY TRANSFORMATION
2020 was the year of change for GeoCast. Witness the amazing transformation our manufacturing factory has undergone in just one year.
GEOCAST FACTORY INVESTMENT
GeoCast have invested heavily in the latest software and equipment to maximise the welfare of their employees, whilst continuing to improve the consistency and quality of the final product for distribution.
In September 2021, we welcomed a brand-new batch weighing system to the GeoCast factory. With the aggregate hopper and conveyer we can electronically set the required weight for each aggregate, cement or pigment type and improve the overall consistency and quality of the mix. To help reduce manual labour, we also invested in an oiling machine which evenly releases oil onto the mould to create a smooth, consistent finish.
